What is the Blackbird Creator Studio?
It's a bright, airy creative space designed for photography, content creation, workshops, events, and collaboration. Part photography studio, part gathering space, part creative playground.
Think soft neutral tones, warm woods, touches of greenery, and big natural light inspired by Vancouver Island living. The design is minimal on purpose, so there's plenty of room to make the space your own. It's polished enough for professional shoots but comfortable enough to kick your shoes off and stay awhile.

Capacity: up to 25 people for workshops and events
Rates: 2 hours $170 · 3 hours $250 · half day (4 hours) $320 · full day (8 hours) $600
Minimum booking: 2 hours
Included: studio furniture, including a couch, an assortment of chairs, a desk, a bench, a clothing rack, a full-length mirror, and a mini fridge, Wi-Fi, washroom, change area, and more to come!
Parking: one reserved spot behind the building (access via the alley), plus street parking
Access: the studio is on the second floor and there's no elevator, so plan accordingly if you're bringing heavy gear or guests with mobility needs
Who uses the studio?
Photographers who want a clean, natural backdrop for brand, family, boudoir, and headshot sessions. Content creators capturing content for products and clients, local businesses hosting pop-ups, launch parties, team meetings, and networking nights. Bridal parties getting ready. Creatives running community workshops, and so much more!
Need a spot for a branding session? Perfect. Hosting a cozy networking night? Love that. If you have an idea, there's a good chance the space can flex to fit it.
Why natural light matters
Natural light is flattering, soft, and easy to work with, and it means you don't need to bring a full lighting kit to get beautiful results. As a brand photographer, I styled every corner of the studio so it photographs well from pretty much every angle. That makes it easy to get real variety in a short booking, without moving furniture around for half your session.
