How to prep for a Brand Photoshoot

Do you have a brand shoot coming up but not sure how to prep for it?

Here are 8 things you can do before your next shoot.

  1. Celebrate that you just made the decision to invest in yourself and your business!

  2. Plan for models if needed.

  3. Book your hair appointment, make up, nails, lashes, tan etc if you are wanting that. This Is absolutely not necessary but I strongly encourage my clients to do what makes them feel their most confident self, and if that’s getting a spray tan then let’s get bronzed! One thing I do like to remind clients is that often times your hands and feet will be in photos so its always nice to have them looking nice with a quick coat of nail polish, some clients even use drug store press on nails, so smart! Not sure who to book? I can help!

  4. Make a list of places you want to use your new photos. Social media, website, banner images, blog posts (do you have specific blog posts in mind we can get images for?), print marketing, billboards, etc.

  5. Start looking at ideas. What are other people in your industry doing that inspires you. Try looking outside of your geographical area for a fresh prospective. I love using Pinterest for ideas and will send you an inspo board before your shoot!

  6. Pick your outfits, look at what you already own, borrow from friends or hit the shops! Some of my favourite shops in Central Vancouver Island are Mod Apparel, RCubed, The Latest Scoop, and Arch + Arrow. Try wearing colours that represent your brand and clothing that is true to your style.

  7. Plan out what props you want to bring to the shoot. I love simple props that keep your hands busy and show your work. Depending on what your brand is will help determine what to bring. Some examples of props are laptop, a mug, favourite book, notebook and pen, phone, your products, food to prep, Champaign, etc.

  8. Clear your day. Try to not overbook yourself on the day of your shoot. The last thing we want is you to feel rushed and frazzled the day of your shoot. This is an investment in your business, let’s make it amazing!
